In autumn 1956, Cameron's very first exhibition was held, at Walter Hopps's studio in Brentwood; quite a few paintings had been wrecked when the gallery caught hearth.[59] all around this time, Cameron was launched towards the actor Dean Stockwell at a public recital of her poetry; he then launched her to his Pal and fellow actor Dennis Hopper.[60]
